Chester County Baby Photographer
There is something about a baby at six months that stops you in your tracks. They are sitting up, taking everything in, full of personality — and not yet running away from you. It is the absolute sweet spot for a first studio session, and these portraits are proof.
This little guy came into my Avondale studio right at six months and absolutely owned every frame. The bear suit did not hurt.
When to Book Baby Portraits in Chester County
The ideal window for a baby’s first portraits is 6 to 8 months. Old enough to sit independently, young enough to stay put. They are alert, expressive, and endlessly entertaining in front of the camera. Once they start crawling, the sessions get a little more athletic.
That said, every baby hits milestones differently. If you are closer to 9 or 10 months and just getting around to booking, reach out anyway. We will work with wherever your little one is.
What should I bring?
Outfits: bring as many as you like. We will start with your favorite and work through the rest, swapping as your baby’s mood allows. I recommend at least four options plus a backup in case of any surprises.
Beyond clothes, bring the basics like diapers, a bottle or snack, and anything that makes your baby smile. A favorite toy, a lovey, or something that makes noise goes a long way between setups. A full belly before you arrive makes everyone’s life easier.
What you’ll take home
These are the portraits you will want on your walls. In my studio, I photograph with wall art and albums in mind from the very first frame. After your session, we will sit down together and choose your favorites, then talk through how to display them in your home in a way you will love for years.
Because this stage does not last, let’s make sure you have something beautiful to show for it.
